Hi, my name is Ian. I am 5 years old, but will be 6 soon. I want a digital camera for my 6th birthday.

I go to school and like it very much. We play a lot, draw and paint, and also have gym. Sometimes we go on field trips, and that is a lot of fun.

I have diabetes. That is like an ouchie in the belly, and I have to take insulin. I got my ouchie when I was 2 years old. I don't remember anymore when I was that small, but my mom says I was very sick and was in the hospital for a week. My mom and dad say I am very brave.

I have a machine, called a pump, which gives me insulin when you press buttons. I have to poke my fingers everyday to see how high or low my blood sugar is. I don't like to poke so many times.

There is no one else at school who has diabetes like me, but that is ok. My teacher is very nice and I have some friends.

I like to draw space ships and satellites and planets. I know all the planets and sometimes I see the moon in the morning, and that is cool. I can also count very well, but my younger brother doesn't. He's still small.

I have many toys, but like to play with the Legos and build airplanes and houses.

I also have a younger brother, and a mom and a dad. And 2 dogs. I like walking the dogs in the forest.
