Hi, my name is Blake and I am 7 years old. I am in second grade and I live in Pennsylvania. I have a gecko named Rex and a dog named Penny and sister named Jaida.

On the day I turned 6 my mommy and my aunt took me to New York because I wanted to see the empire state building and go to the aquarium, but I was too thirsty the whole time and my belly hurt so it wasn't too fun. When we got home, I went to the doctor and they told me I had to stay in the hospital because I have type 1 diabetes. I was scared, but the kids floor in the hospital has video games and a play room and also pretty good snacks.

My arms and belly got sore from too many shots because I need insulin every time I want to eat something. So now I wear an insulin pump and I like it a lot. We still have to poke my fingers lots of times everyday to check my sugar, but my fingers are so tough that it only hurts a little bit now.

My favorite thing in the world is whales and I want to be an ocean biologist when I grow up. My daddy bought me my own golf clubs that are just my size and he takes me to a real golf course and I can hit the ball pretty far. I also really like to jump on the trampoline and ride my bike and sled down the hill when it snows.
